Sonja Sepeda, RN – Nurse Manger
Sonja is the nurse manager at Texas Star Recovery. She started her career in 2010 as a rehab tech. Soon after falling in love with the field of addiction and recovery, she decided to get her license as a registered nurse. Her dedication and compassion helped her rise to the nurse manager position in early 2017. Sonja is so thankful to be leading a team of nurses who embody the knowledge and empathy that is required in this field.
Jenny Lee, LMFT – Lead Therapist
Jenny is a licensed family therapist at Texas Star Recovery. She completed her master’s in couple and family therapy at Drexel University in Philadelphia and her master’s in divinity from Biblical Seminary in Hatfield, PA. She is currently a doctoral candidate for couple and family therapy at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX.
Jenny loves providing couples therapy and working with addiction, eating disorders and Black-American families. She thoroughly enjoys working with the Texas Star team and seeing people in recovery own their sobriety and wholeheartedly pursue recovery.
Roland Gonzales, LCDC – Counselor
Roland is a licensed chemical dependency counselor at Texas Star Recovery. He has over 27 years of experience. He also has experience working in cognitive rehabilitation with traumatic brain injuries and Neurotherapy (EEG biofeedback) for the ADHD population. He enjoys working with people and families in recovery. Seeing clients thrive in sobriety and begin working on their life goals continues to be extremely rewarding.
Lindsay McCartney, LMSW, LCDC, ADS – Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist
Lindsay is a licensed master social worker and the Intensive Outpatient Program Therapist at Texas Star Recovery. She completed her Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. Lindsay is also a licensed chemical dependency counselor and an acupuncture detoxification specialist.
Lindsay has been providing acu-detox since April 2018 and enjoys bringing alternative and holistic therapies into treatment. Lindsay has worked with addiction and mental health since 2012 and has experience in various levels of care including residential and outpatient programs. She currently leads the IOP evening program for dual diagnosis, and loves to see the process of change in clients. She feels privileged to watch people grow in their self-esteem and embrace sobriety.
