Texas Star Recovery, Austin Oaks Hospital and Austin Lakes Hospital are hosting a three-hour CEU clinical presentation on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to at The Sobering Center Community and The Training Room.
Texas Star Recovery has recently been awarded the Platinum designation by Optum, formerly know as United Behavioral Health, for the remarkable work the facility does here in Austin, Texas working with dually diagnosed and substance abuse adults.
Texas Star Recovery was honored with the Platinum distinction based on clinical data collected by Optum over the course of an entire year. Optum looked at specific criterea, such as readmission rates and average length of inpatient stay, and compared Texas Star Recovery’s data to that of other regionally-based facilities.
Meghann Flynn has joined our team as the new Program Director for Texas Star and Vista. She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. She has extensive group therapy experience addressing addiction with dually diagnosed women, active duty military, veteran populations and more. Meghann is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Techniques and is a certified yoga instructor. Meghann believes in the power of group therapy and uses various modalities, including CBT and motivational interviewing, to create a safe environment for clients to learn about themselves and the disease model of addiction. “I am energized to join a team of physicians and therapists who believe in a person’s inherent strengths and ability to heal and thrive.”
We are proud to introduce Elizabeth “Lizzie” Arnold. She has recently joined the Texas Star Recovery team as Clinical Admission Specialist. Lizzie has a BA in Psychology from Texas State University. Her work history includes 4 years at Down Home Ranch working with adults with IDD and as a case manager for Family Link Adoption and Foster agency. In her leisure time, she enjoys running, hiking and yoga.
