Family Involvement

cd-family-picFamily involvement and support is essential for a successful road to recovery from co-occurring substance abuse and psychiatric disorders. Without family support, maintaining sobriety is significantly more difficult.

Addiction is considered a “family disease” and Texas Star offers education and support groups to family members of patients. Therapists can provide family therapy sessions in person or over the phone while your loved one is in treatment.

  • Relapse prevention behaviors and support

Texas Star Family Education

Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Family Education Group is held in the Texas Star Recovery conference room.

Al-Anon Groups

Mondays, 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The Al-anon group is held in the conference room on Texas Star Recovery.
